Project Overview

With several professional networking platforms available on the market, Crews wanted to fill the niche for a dedicated networking platform for modern day content creators. Crews brainstormed and started to work on their business vision with the goal of bringing the content creators together under one platform.

User Problems

The content creators were looking to have easy networking access with different companies and/or individuals from the same profession. Research carried out taught us that the target audience wanted to search and utilize content creator’s skills and/or services while investing less time into searching for these services. Not all content creators are good at finding and networking with the preferred service providers and settle for services that they otherwise wouldn’t.

Challenges

Interactive designing and implementing app models with diverse features can be challenging. Designing and building a website with seamless response time and testing the web interoperability, serviceability, website scalability, and web browser were the top priorities to ensure the smooth functioning of the Crews website.

Project Management

Discovery

We provide our clients with a timeline at the start of the project, outlining the timeframe to complete and deliver the final usable product. Every version of the product that has been built is shared with the client so that they can use the product and test it extensively. We analysed the information gained from the studies and interviews and used this data to define and understand the issues the target market was facing regarding their production management and contractor sourcing. For the successful and fast delivery of a product, the functionalities of the product must be filtered and prioritised. Therefore, we prioritised the features of the application based on their importance to the end-user.

Backlog Creation

In order to not to miss any of the user stories and to make sure that the project would function at its best, a backlog was created. This backlog included all the to-do lists for the project. We then created an ultimate to-do list in a project management tool, so that it became easier for sprint planning later.

Backlog Grooming

Once the backlog was created, the team refined the backlog. This helped in the development and delivery of the top items in the backlog list. Backlog grooming is important as it:

Excluded non-relevant user stories.
Added new user stories.
Assigned estimates to user stories that were yet to be

User Experience and Design

Based on the user- flow created as per the client’s requirement further steps were taken. The main goal of EB pearls is to meet the requirement of the client based on the users. The user flow gave the guidelines to the client about the functionality on the web application and to compare if it met the client requirement.

Design Sprint

During this Sprint, the EB creative UX and UI design team worked based on the user flow created by the project manager with the feedback from the client. To explore that our UX and UI designer understood the concept from the client the wireframe was created and demonstrated to the client how it will work.

Internal Testing

Based on the approved wireframe from the client, the UX and UI designer worked together in order to develop an interactive prototype of the platform. After the prototype was designed, the client did the testion to ensure that the product developing suits the clients requirement.

Retrospective

Our team gained further experience in creating a platform that is effortless to use, with a seamless response, high security and web interoperability. We also gained experience in implementing ReactJS and handling internal databases for large datasets and became better at developing any kind of designs that are created by customizing APIs.

Next steps

The proud moment for EB pearls was when we got positive feedback from the users. But EB pearls collects the feedback from the users and updates the new version to enhance the user experience. Crews is still in touch with EB pearls for regular updates and maintenance of the application.
